Preparedness

Preparation

By Brother Tim Butler

(Prov 16:1 KJV)  The PREPARATIONS of the heart in man, and the answer of the

 tongue, is from the LORD.

(Prov 6:6 KJV)  Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise:

As the great tribulation begins to fall upon the earth we, who are God’s chosen ones, having heard what the

Angel of the Lord has been telling us, to prepare to go through the tribulation, have and are preparing for this

period of time. This page is being offered to you to assist you in these preparations. We are not doing these

things to save the flesh, for all flesh is as grass, but rather in obedience to the Fathers wishes for us to make

 provisions for these last days.

HOME PREPERATIONS

There are many things you can do to prepare your home for the time of tribulation. Remember that you will

NOT be able to buy or sell once the tribulation starts. The things you do must reflect this mentality. Here are

some things that I am advising you to do.

1. Get out of the Cities………You will not be able to grow food in the cities, like you will need or have a decent

water supply. Also as this World is devastated with the effects of the tribulation and food and water become

scarce you neighbors will help themselves to your yummy garden, you would then have to defend your food

supply by force or loose it all, is food worth killing someone over?

(Rev 13:10 KJV)  He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword.

Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.

2. Get out of debt……Make sure that any loans in which your property could be repossessed are paid off. You

will not be able to work during this time of tribulation and unless you have a lot of money stashed away (you might

not be able to use this money either) you will not be able to pay your bills. Make every effort to make as much

money as you can now. There is an old saying among farmers, “you gotta make hay while the sun is shining”.

3. Make provisions to protect your health……If you need medications for a condition you should realize that you

wont be able to get them during the tribulation. Now would be a good time to seek God for healing and try herbal

remedies to see if your medications could be done away with. If nothing else you will need to stock pile as much

medication as you can get a hold of. A good medical kit would be good to gather together now Here is a list of

things that would be good to have.

Antibiotic ointment, band aides, bandages, first aide book, potable water pills, insect sting medication,

snake bite kit, break open ammonia inhalants, betadine or hydrogen peroxide, alcohol swabs, q-tips, wound

tape, pencil, paper, blood stop powder, burn salve, eye wash, calamine lotion, aspirin or some kind of pain

killer, herbal remedies, CPR mask, splint, scalpel, sutures, needles, …..this is just for starters, add anything

else you feel you may need.

4. Home readiness…. ..A home with at least 2 acres that is at least 20 miles away from any big city is preferable.

The farther out in the “sticks” you are the better. As mentioned earlier, do all you can to pay your property off

now, See if you can over pay your property taxes, if you can pay at least 3-4 times more then you owe and let

them deduct from the overpayment yearly to pay your taxes with. Try to do the same with your utilities, this will

keep them on longer. I will now get into different aspects of home preparations by categories.

5. Home needs…..It is important to realize that once the mark of the beast is in place you will not be able to

pay your utilities anymore. To offset the needs of these utilities I offer the following suggestions.

Buy a propane refrigerator and stove and store as much propane as you can afford. Two 500 gallon

propane tanks should hold out if you use it just for the refrigerator and stove.

Don’t throw out your electric refrigerator, put it on the porch! Holes can be drilled in this and covered with

a fine mesh to keep insects out to use when the weather is cold. Bigger holes for the freezer and smaller holes for

the frige part. Depending on where you live this could be used most of the winter to keep your food in and your

propane one shut off to conserve propane. During the summer it is also a good storage place for canned goods

or other items that need to be kept bug free.

Buy a wood stove. A wood stove heats the house well and by keeping a kettle of water on the stove at all

times it provides hot water for dish washing and showers, as well as adding humidity to the air. Cut and store as

much wood as you can now. Chainsaws take gas and oil and cutting lubricant which you might not be able to get

during the tribulation. Of course it is a good idea to store gas and or diesel fuel with a preservative added, as much

as you can afford to store. Chainsaws also make a lot of noise and you may not want to draw attention to

yourselves like that.

Buy oil lamps and candles. As much as you can, and oil for the lamps. A solar electric system is ideal but

very expensive to get going. Also while a generator would be nice, it also might make more noise then you want to

make at this time. Get and oil lamp and fill it with oil and use it only as necessary during the day and see how much

oil you use per day. Times this by 1,290 days and this will be how much oil you will want to have if at all possible.

I suppose that you could gather animal fat from any animals you kill for food and heat it up and use as lamp oil also

if you get into a pinch. Also going to bed with the setting of the sun and rising with it also would be wise.

Drill a well or have some alternative water source such as a river or a pond. A well with a solar pump works

quite well. Pump the water into a cistern placed 10-15 ft. above the ground to provide pressurized water for the

house. In summer you can route the water along the roof of the house using 2-3 in. black PCV pipe to provide

hot water for your needs. In the winter you will have to make sure that the cistern is fitted with a black insulation

blanket to keep the water from freezing, the same with the pipes entering the house. In winter you can keep a big

pot of water on the wood heater to provide you with hot water. A simple set up for showering in the winter is to

take a 5 gallon bucket and drill a hole just big enough to fit the end of a pipe that is attached to an on and off

showerhead. Make sure the end of the pipe is threaded and use a nut on each side of the bucket to secure it. Before

tightening the nuts down use a silicon sealant to seal the pipe and tighten it down. Now make a place to hang or sit

the bucket in the shower. Fill the bucket ½ full with cold water and mix hot water from the wood stove with it.

Add just enough hot water to taste and take your shower. The on/off switch on the shower head allows you to

get wet, turn off the water, suds up and then rinse off. I am a big man and using this method you will only use

about 2 ½ gallons of water for a shower. If you cannot have a well you can put rain gutters on the house that empty

into 55 gallon drums. This water would not be good for drinking unless boiled and properly filtered but it will work

fine for showers and doing laundry. If using pond or river water, several good sized containers would be nice to

have so you don’t have to make so many trips to your water source. A good water purifier is a must to clean out

unwanted algae and bacteria.

Laundry……..Have a good supply of laundry soap on hand, biodegradable is preferred because you can

then use the water on your garden without hurting your plants. A wash tub and scrub board can do the job well

enough. If you have solar power maybe a wringer washer would work, these need less electricity then your average

washer does and less water too. It is also a good idea to only wear two changes of clothing per week as this will

keep your clothes longer and besides, you all will stink the same anyway.

Food…….Food should be stored up for hard times. Grains, flour, sugar, coffee, soups, dry milk, instant

potatoes, canned and dried veggie’s, canned and dried meats are all good things to have an abundance of. Farm

animals such as goats and sheep and chickens are good to keep also. I do not recommend keeping cattle unless

you have enough acreage to sustain them. Cows need a lot of hay and grass whereas goats and sheep don’t eat as

much and the meat will fit in your freezer better because they have less meat. Wrapping paper or vacuum sealers

to store your meat after butchering is a good idea also. A couple of guns (I prefer .22 cal. Rifles because the ammo

is cheap and they can kill about anything that moves with a good shot, they are also quieter then a 30.06 or a

shotgun.) for hunting is a good idea also, a better idea though is a cross bow or bow and arrow set. These are

silent killers and being quiet may be quite important in those days. Make sure you know how to use and care for

these items before the tribulation starts though, learning to hunt from scratch will be hard to do when you HAVE

to have whatever you can get so you can eat. Buy several #1 and #1 ½ coilspring traps. These are silent ways to

provide food for you and your family in a pinch. Again, learn how to use them before you really need them.

Fishing equipment and tackle will also be handy for providing food. Learn how to set a trout line or turtle lines also.

A garden is a must. This is the best way to provide food for your family. There are many books on gardening with

limited space, get one as they will help you to understand how to get the most food out of your garden possible.

Try to buy organic seeds as these can be dried and kept to use for planting the next year. If you can’t do that then

you will need to buy three years worth of seed for your garden and store then in a dry humid free place. Canning jars

and lids are a must. You will need three times as many lids as jars because the jars can be reused and I have learned

from experience that the new lids seal better then using old lids. Use a pressure canner if you can. If you are cooking

on a wood stove then a water bath is better because the heat must be controlled with a pressure canner, again

practice is key.

Tools…….Gardening tools are a must. A hoe and rake are minimum requirements, a rototiller is nice but

noisy and horse pulled implements are out of the question unless you have a lot of land. Basic carpentry tools

and supplies as well as a mechanics tool box for fixing things would be good also. Chainsaws are nice but noisy,

saws, axes. Hatchets, shovels, both round and flat, picks, water hoses, matches (lots of them), lighters, skinning

knives and butchering saws are essentials. A wheel barrel or wheeled cart is handy for many things. Flashlights,

solar battery charger, solar powered radio and a Ham radio are also nice to have.

Clothing…….Basically what you have now but alot more of them. You will probably loose weight during

this time so plan on having some smaller sized clothing or make sure you or your wife know how to put “darts”

in them to tighten them up. Now is the time to buy clothing and yard sales and flea markets are the places to look.

They don’t have to be fashionable, just serviceable, remember you probably are not going to be going anywhere

anyhow. Learn how to sew! If you have no way of producing electricity then you will have to know how to sew by

hand. Keep extra material on hand. Fabric stores have sales on discontinued items and many times fabric can be

bought real cheap during these sales. Also keep plenty on thread and needles on hand. Be prepared to wear warmer

clothing around the house. Don’t start your wood burner until you absolutely need it. If it is cool in the morning

but will warm up during the day then you are better off saving your wood then starting a fire. Make sure you have

good work type boots as well as rain boots. Hip boots are nice to have for trapping or fishing and house slippers

can keep your tootsies warm. Make sure you have enough shoes to last you 3 ½ years, keep this in mind when

making decisions on all items.

Personal needs……..Keep a good supply of soap and shampoo on hand, again the good organic kind can

be used and then reused on the garden. Get organic toothpaste or denture toothpaste and store up what you need,

those with dentures will need denture adhesive. Under arm deodorant would probably be appreciated by your loved

ones and shave cream and razors. Extra combs, brushes and hair accessories as well as barber shears or scissors

for cutting hair. Women who still have their periods will need a good supply of tampons or pads. My wife can send

anyone a pattern for making their own feminine pads that are washable just for asking. Children will need toys and

games to keep them occupied, would be nice for adults too. Books and home schooling material are good, just

remember that if we are in the tribulation the return of our Lord will end the need for schooling. The best thing to

keep children busy is to involve them in the work that will be needed every day just to survive. Don’t forget that

your children will be growing and clothes that will fit them will be essential, you will want to have bigger clothes

for them too. If you have any dog’s or cat’s, Which I don’t advise, you will need to have a supply of food for

 them too.
